You can open and record TV tuner cards, internal, external webcams, cameras, closed circuit cameras and other devices.

K-Lite Codec Pack is my favorite media player and I have been using since last 8 years. This media player with MKV support is a free to use and ad-free media player. It supports nearly all video and audio formats such as MKV, MP4, AVI, VOB and others. It can play DVD disks. Though It can’t convert but You can save DVD as VOB and then play in it.
At the first glance, It seems very simple. But It has plenty of useful features. You can play / stream internal, external webcam, TV tuner card, camera and other devices with K-Lite Codec Pack. As well as These devices can be recorded with built in recorder.
In addition, You can switch between available audio languages, load subtitles and take screenshots from a playing video. K-Lite Codec Pack is only designed for the users of Microsoft Windows.
1)-VLC Media Player
I often wonder Why VLC media player is a free to use media player. At the same time, This open source media player is a media player, video recorder, video converter, streaming software and offers plenty of other features.
This ad-free media player is capable of playing MKV, MP4, AVI, VOB, and in short, nearly all audio and video formats. And the best thing is that VLC Media Player is frequently updated.
You can install additional plug ins and extensions. This open source media player can also be used to download videos from YouTube and other video sharing websites.
As I mentioned earlier It is not just an MKV player, It comes packed with a built in screen recorder to record anything happening on a computer screen with audio. You can record web pages, training, gameplay, how to videos and other things. In addition, You can record webcam, external cameras and other such devices.

To compile the list, I installed and used KMPlayer. Although, It has plenty of useful features, But After using KMPlayer, I decided not to add it to the list. KMPlayer bombards its users with annoying text and video ads. Don’t use it If you use a limited internet.
